Cave Your Trolls initiative

Voelspriet.nl has initiated an idea to rid communities (be it forums, blogs, whatever) of trolls. Not get rid of them by banning them or nuking their posts, no, by accepting their trolly messages and keeping them at ease. The smart thing is that this anti-troll plug-in only shows the trolly stuff to the troll itself. That way, the other community members need not suffer.

Smart? Definitely.
Will it work? Maybe.
Maybe not on SEO forums, but surely it will work on communities with members who are less web-savvy and not used to bypass tricky stuff like this.

They already feel queasy if people don't talk to them. They'll turn violent when they confirm that people are actively avoiding them.

Banning is the best way IMHO.

I guess it's like anti-spam measures. It will probably grow into a race of measures and evading tactics. Luckily, trolls get bored and move on. We'll see.
