True, Nadir, but which ones get top billing? I don't think it's rankings related. I think the order in which they are presented is distance related (from the center of the area), but I could be wrong.

Donna, I thought that would be it too but look at that search I posted. The dealership listed second is further away than the third listing there...

The good part about this is that national companies would have one hell of a time justifying getting included in local results, even if they put up fake addresses in every city.

I think he meant sites like chevrolet.com or autotrader.com etc. Basically the big national competition for this industry.

Yeah, I meant virtual, not chains. I would think that most chains would have local websites for each dealership anyways.
