To wait or to do something (lost rankings)

I don't know if a reinclusion request would work because you haven't changed anything so you didn't correct anything. It sounds like you are asking for your old ranks back and I don't think it works like that.

How has your competition changed? How many spots in the SERPs have you dropped on your main KWs?

A day is not enough time to detect a problem. There could be an algo shift that is in progress so you don't have all the data you need yet. It could just be a hickup. It could be lots of things.

I say watch it for a week or two and then have a third party take a look to see if there's something you missed.

It's a bug, like pittbug said. I looked and it is following the exact same pattern that I have seen twice now on other sites of mine. Well, one site is having it happen now for the second time, so I guess three times now. No pattern at all that I can see. This one has been buried for the search though for a few months, iirc. I mean, almost no competition or traffic for the phrase, not like there should be a problem with it at all, and it disappeared well before all the hubbub started.

Who knows. Came back on it's own before, so for my site not worried. No clue what you should do though Bruno, sorry.

Ok, the one I told you about that had the exact same thing going on just reversed itself again, and is back to #1, so obviously they changed something.

I haven't checked most of my other sites yet, but did yours switch yet Bruno...?

Nope, not yet, but from stats i'm getting 10-20 visits from G per day. I have found one more site with same problem, missing homepage from serps. How long did you wait?

About a week... but from what I've seen it depends on the size of your site and the googlebot crawl rate.

Mine was like that for about 2 months I think, but the homepages of that set of sites only ever gets crawled every 3-4 weeks. No changes though, like I said. Just sat tight. Of course, mine isn't a money maker, so easier for me to do nothing.
