New Free SEO Tools from SeoMoz

    Hi all

Some of us must have seen this by this time, but still thought of mentioning it here for those who didn't.

SeoMoz today announced offering some free seo tools for the public and 1 seo dashboard for their premium members... http://www.seomoz.org/blog/new-features-10-free-seo-tools-seo-dashboard

You can see the free tools here: http://www.seomoz.org/toolbox

    Your thoughts please....

sort of ho-hum. i mean, there's nothing wrong with the free tools, just nothing particularly new or special either, afaik. kind of "more of the same".

kind of "more of the same".
or kind of too basic ones... not even a single one to bookamrk, i feel.

I believe Rand is doing well in attracting the newbies. His free tools are hooks into the uninitiated SEO/web-designer community... Leading to premium tool revenue. It appears to be working for him. I wish him the best.

I know there's not much new - but we figured it would be nice to have access to all of these in one place (especially with the dashboard, where you can make calls to all of these and all of the premium tools, too). The one that is completely different is the "strongest pages on a domain" tool, which we think is pretty spiffy.

Sorry you guys aren't fans - hopefully when the Geo-targeting tool launches in a couple weeks that will be more up your alley

I wasn't really condemning them. They are perfectly acceptable. Just nothing new that hasn't been seen or done before. No doubt it's a nice collection for the mozzers, especially those who haven't already seen a million tools before.

Thanks Rand for your comments. As others said, nothing like they are useless, but as WE expect a lot more from you guys and these new releases didn't make any 'Wows" in us.

How does the strongest pages tool work? I ran a couple tests and the results were mixed versus my perceptions.

And I admire the direction you are moving. Your overall strategy is innovative and generally your announcements carry more *pop* but like DD said...
