What exactly is Alexa rank ? what is its importance in SEO ? How is it different from Google page rank ?

Alexa rank shows that in which number your website rank in google out of all websites, for example if your alexa rank is 1000 its mean your site is on 1000 number in all over the world according to google, and it is all about traffic, means if you have good figure of traffic on your website then your alexa rank will be low.
