I think claims like that is total bs. I saw either this or something like this a while ago. They tried to sell us on advertising.

If they've installed on 20 million browsers I've got a bridge in Brooklyn I can sell you.

    Well, they may have...

    ...in their lab.

It doesn't say that it's on use on 20 million browsers, does it?

They use spyware to advertise. It's a scam.

no i didnt; one ad agency approached us and they wanted us to buy some keywords for which our site would appear on the top of search results. They gave us this example; goto http://www.starposition.com/?A=2 and search "banking"

All of those "buy keywords" because we have x number of users using our toolbar who'll see your site when they type your keywords, are a load of rubbish. It's a fairly old scam that gets rehashed by different companies now and then. Don't ever fall for it. It will either be:

    1. A company that doesn't and never will have as many user toolbars as they say... or...
    2. The system is really spyware and unsuspecting users are confused as to why they suddenly see weird sites at the top of Google, when everyone else sees something different.

Donna, you should check out this one. It's not some little quirk in the serps, they actually think that people won't notice a half-page sized scrolling iframe with this huge ad inside, and the example they give actually plays music. :P
