Internet marketing motivation learnt from a beggar!
Well actually , its more like a drug addict or something.
I park my vehicle at a parking area and this drug addict came and asked for money to buy lunch , me wife gave 1 buck to him. Then he went to other vehicle to get some money , more like above 10 vehicle but everyone just ignored him even scold him but he kept on asking for money. The key motivation here is of course not to be a drug addict but the key motivation is "never give up". Even if you see there's dead end ahead of you. Hopes this motivates you. |

I don't think I could become a successful beggar if I were to fail at SEO.
So ...umm... does this mean I should never quit my day job?

If you beg 10 hours a day 365 day a year. Then you have 3650 hours of solid begging. If you are able to on average ask 2 persons per minute for a dollar. Then you will after a year have asked for money 438000 times. So the average income per beg if he really made 100.000 dollars is 23 cents. I find it hard to believe. Even if he once in a while got 50$ from someone, or if he managed to ask 3 persons per minute or he spent 16 hours a day begging, I find it hard to believe.

I generally don't give money to beggars. I know too many are scamming and too many have bigger problems that I won't enable. That said, on the rare occasion I do see someone needs a hand up, I usually give them more than a dollar.
You also have to figure a pro that begs for 10 hours per day every day has mastered his craft and knows how to approach different types of people for better ROI. You also have to figure that not only would such a person get turned down less often, he would also get bigger payouts than "just a dollar" on average. Working 10 hours per day, 300 days per year it breaks down to $33.33 per hour. Totally doable.

IMHO, what we can learn from beggars is to realize that we can earn money on any job and actually start doing something we love. I honestly doubt most beggars can't perform the work they like. More likely, they just don't want to bother about it.
So, no, beggars never motivate me. Quite the reverse, really. Last edited by A.N.Onym; 02-17-2008 at 06:35 PM. |
