T’was the night before Christmas,
when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, –not even Wit’s mouse;
The rankings were watched by the members with care,
In hopes that top spots soon would be theirs.
The SERPs were nestled all snug in their beds,
Since Matt Cutts had assured us that lightly they’d tread;
And Rand in his cool shoes, and Earl in black cap,

Had just settled down to discuss Google Maps,
When out in the forums there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my screen to see what was the matter.
Launching my Windows I clicked like a flash,
the new threads were spreading like some kind of rash.
The owners of SC had hit a new low
Sold out their members to make pocket books grow,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
they killed all our sig links it soon became clear,

With an over reaction, so hasty and quick,
I thought for a moment it must be a trick.
More rapid than eagles Jcap’s orders they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and banned them by name;
“Out, Skitzzo! out, Randfish! out, Donna the VIXEN!
out, ToddG! out Sawyer! This place needs some fixen!
From the lowliest poster to the best of them all!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!”

So out to the Refuge the community flew,
With a rep whore named Big Doug and Skitzzo’s Pop too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard from the group
That Randfish and EarlGrey were Newsweek’s big scoop.
As I clicked with my mouse, and was surfing around,
The article on 14c bound to astound.
RMC said he knew how to avoid the Sandbox,
the sites traffic picked up, visitors came by the flocks;
A ton of suggestions were flung on the stack,
Skitzzo and Pops started work and they never looked back.

EarlPearl and then Faremax join the group as new mods
They can ban you or edit, their power – like gods;
We need a shoutbox and a logo they said,
And our craving for rep has got to be fed;
By haikuing on Fridays we write some bad prose,
Why we bother with football picks no body knows;
I cant mention all members; it would be too much work,
But all of you reading, please sign up… don’t lurk,
And for now I exclaim, as I log off the site,
