I try to spread them evenly based on resources I figure they'll use. @Yuri - I usually pay about $4-5 per article. Monetization is only through Adsense until I take a good long look at the site and spend time working on it. At that point I look for affiliates and direct advertisers. Once the PR hits 4 or 5 I'll go with a link selling company as well like TLB or TLA.
